Pre-K for All

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I hope that the first few months of the school year have been exciting for both you and your preschooler!

I would like to take this opportunity to inform you of some exciting changes that involve the preschool program at Odin PSD #722. First of all, beginning December 1, 2023, our Pre-K for All program will be directly under the supervision of Odin Public School District instead of the Regional Office of Education #13. Nothing will change for your student in the classroom or within the program. However, by directly supervising the program, our district is given the opportunity to work more closely with the parents, expand our classrooms, and offer engagement opportunities to our families within the community.

Next, I would like to introduce myself as Coordinator for the Odin PSD #722 Pre-K for All Program. My name is Samantha Dix. I have worked in education since 2009 and have been the Administrative Assistant for Odin PSD since 2019. I will continue to work part-time in the school office, but will also be taking on additional responsibilities to help make our pre-k program as successful as possible. I am thrilled to see the pre-k program expand, and to have the opportunity to serve our students and their families in this capacity.

As Coordinator, my main goal is to create a welcoming environment that encourages our families to become active participants in their child’s education. I will also be planning several family activities throughout the school year that I encourage you to take advantage of and participate in.  I will serve as a liaison to assist each parent/guardian with any concerns or issues that may arise. I am here to help and give you the support, information and resources so that you can understand your child’s educational process and help your child reach their academic, physical, and social goals.

You will also be receiving the Odin PSD #722 Preschool for All Parent Handbook. Please take the time to read it over and feel free to refer to it throughout the school year. There are also a few forms at the end of the handbook. Please complete those forms and return them to school as soon as possible so that our staff can have all of the most up to date information on file. You will NOT be required to provide proof of residency, income, physical, immunization record, and birth certificates again. As we are able to get those items from the Regional Office of Education.

Respectfully,

Samantha Dix
